Samtec Announces Acquisition Of AlpenIO
SUNNYVALE, CA--(April 28, 2011) - Samtec, Inc., the New Albany, Indiana (USA) based electronic interconnect manufacturer, announces the recent acquisition of AlpenIO Inc., the Sunnyvale, CA (USA) based company specializing in high speed active optical cables, optical engines and custom optical interconnects.
"The acquisition of AlpenIO is a natural step in the evolution of Samtec's products, capabilities, and service advantage," said John Shine, Samtec's President. "Optical engine technology allows for electrical to optical conversion in flexible form factors, it helps us work around the limitations of copper, and it supports our ongoing vertical integration efforts."
